Its not a typo, I said it correctly, a flat panel LG Brand LCD TV for $125. Full 1o80p support.
I know you’re wondering how I did it. Whether I robbed or swindled someone. The fact is, its a tough economy here in the USA. I got caught up hustling the Craigslist market and been monitoring various keywords.
In one weeks time, I bought (and resold) the following;
It was a tiring week as I’d run around town.
Moving on to the drug deal, I mean Xbox 360 purchase. There was this one meetup, where if bystanders saw the transaction, they could of sworn a drug deal just went down. I met this guy around 10pm at night at the parking lot of Fry’s Supermarket. The seller was already there, waiting in the dark. I pulled up, opened my trunk, got out, handed cash ($60) and he handed goods. Closed my trunk and pulled off. It was two broken Xbox 360, so I didn’t need test anything. So yeah, like I said, bystanders would swear to their life, they just witnessed a drug deal.
I did however pay attention to some electronics that required repairs. If could purchase at a really low price, it would make fun repair projects.
Thats how I came across this LG 47″ TV. The seller wanted $200 but after I visited him, I haggled him down to $100. Found so many problems with it (or so I told the seller) just so he would sell it for dirt cheap. Before buying it, I asked various questions which led me to believe this would be an easy fix.
Luckily, it was. Just needed to replace some capacitors which I got off eBay for $15.
This is the power board of the 47″ LG TV. The capacitors were easy to replace.
I haven’t used a soldering iron in years so I managed to do what most people who tries to hurry through a project, is to burn yourself. I happen to nick my pinkie finger.
At first, it didn’t feel like much but ten minutes later, a small heart beat was developed.
So after spending $100 on the TV, $15 for capacitors and accounting some gas fees, I got this wonderful 47″ Flat Screen for under $125.
I will be going next week to Los Angeles for a few meetups then Las Vegas so stay tuned for more.
